Reflections
This was my first ever interdisciplinary group project at TGA and the start of my journey within the wonderful world of collaborative game development.
Finding a middle ground between easy and hard, while learning how to navigate an entirely new engine was large undertaking for me as a new designer. I struggled a lot when it came to the difficulty of my level and had to make a lot of iterations to make sure it fit between level 1 and 3.
Thanks to everyone in my team and my fellow level designers, I learnt a lot and was able to land on something I’m happy with for my first project!
What would I have done different now?
It’s always hard to reflect on ones first project as there are so many things you’re completely new to. One thing I wish I had done was to playtest the other 2 levels more frequently than I did so that I could’ve properly scoped the difficulty of my level in comparison.
