Designing the final level of a game isn’t always easy as there are a lot of questions to ask yourself. How hard should it be in relation to previous levels? Should I introduce something new or is it more of a gauntlet? Do I increase the difficulty or simply the length of the level?
After various playtests and a lot of feedback I think I landed on something that was challenging, but didn’t feel unfair.
What would I have done different now?
Since the difficulty was such a big question for me within this project, I wish I would have spent more time setting up external playtesting sessions and gathered more feedback so I could’ve solidified an appropriate difficulty much sooner than I did.
